RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 151 – November 4, 2022 Lucas Oil 150 – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series /ARCA West – Phoenix Raceway

AVONDALE, Ariz. – Zane Smith won the race and the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship in the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix Raceway. Earlier in the day Sammy Smith won the Desert Diamond Casino West Valley 100 ARCA Menards West Series race.

Smith had the dominant truck, but title rival Ben Rhodes opted to stay on the track to try and hold onto the lead over the final nine laps of the race. Rhodes led the race into overtime, when another title competitor Ty Majeski spun while racing for second.

On the final two lap run Smith got the better of Rhodes and had to fend of the fourth title contender Chandler Smith for the victory. For Zane Smith it was relief as he had finished second in the final Truck Series standings the last two years. Chandler Smith and Rhodes finished second and third.

In the ARCA Menards West Series race Sammy Smith was dominant but had to rally back from a one lap rough driving penalty to get the win. Jesse Love finished second with Andres Perez de Lara completing the podium.
