RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 137: October 8, 2022 Drive For The Cure 250 – NASCAR Xfinity Series – Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL

CONCORD, N.C. – A.J. Allmendinger won Saturday’s Drive for the Cure 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. It was his fourth-straight win in the event.

Ty Gibbs took control of the race in the final stage and was cruising along until a series of restarts challenged his advantage. He maintained the top spot on the first restart, but A.J. Allmendinger got on a run around the outside on a second one to wrestle the lead away.

Allmendinger had to fend off Gibbs on a final overtime restart to grab the victory, his fifth of the season. Gibbs settled for second with Noah Gragson third.
