RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 120: September 8, 2022 Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour/Warrior Region – Lakeside Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Sam Hafertepe Jr. dominated Thursday’s 25-lap Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour race at Lakeside Speedway. It was his third National Tour victory of the season.

Hafertepe started on the outside of the front row and race side-by-side with Matt Covington for the first lap, after gaining the advantage he put distance on the field. Even in tricky lapped traffic Hafertepe was able to extend his lead.

A red flag on lap 19 drew everyone back to Hafertepe, but once back to green he was gone. It was the 61st National Tour victory and he became the first repeat winner at Lakeside Speedway in eight series races at the track. He is a five-time (2016-2020) series champion.

Garet Williamson made a late race charge to finish second with Jason Martin scoring a third place finish.

Chris Dishong won the 20 lap E-Mod feature with Shadren Turner winning the 15-lap USRA B-Mod feature.
