RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 116: August 31, 2022 Window World 125 – Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour – North Wilkesboro Speedway

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. – Carson Kvapil dominated the Window World 125 CARS Tour Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Wednesday Night. The blockbuster event was held with a “sold out” crowd of more than 20,000 in the continued “Racetrack Revival” of the historic Speedway.

Kwapil started on the pole and led the first 15 laps before Mini Tyrrell raced into the lead. Kvapil took the lead back before the race’s first “controlled caution” at lap 40. Pit strategy put Jacob Heafner into the lead from lap 41 to 53 before Kvapil took command.

From there Kvapil fended off all challenges over the final 72 laps. A late race caution allowed Mason Diaz a shot at the lead, but he came up short, finishing second. In total Kvapil lead 89 of the 125 laps.

Fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr made his return to late model stock races and thrilled the crowd with an eighth to third-place fun over the final 25 laps of the race. Earnhardt is the team owner for Kvapil.
