RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 92: July 21, 2022 Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek – Linda’s Speedway (New Track No. 230)

JONESTOWN, Pa. – Kyle Larson picked up the ride in Jim Radney’s 600 Micro on Thursday morning and took it to victory lane Thursday night in the 30-lap Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek event at Linda’s Speedway. He bested a whopping 87-car field with the win.

Series point leader Steven Snyder Jr. and Larson started on the front row and ran the first three laps side-by-side, on lap three Larson was inches ahead at the start-finish line when a caution came out giving him control of the lead. Larson set a blistering pace through the mid-stages of the race.

However, by lap 20 he caught the tail end of the field and Snyder, and third running Tommy Kunsman, caught Larson. The final ten laps were a thrilling game of “cat and mouse” through lapped traffic and while Larson never gave up the lead, there were moments where Snyder appeared to have opportunities. And there were moments when Kunsman was alongside Snyder.

In the end is was Larson with the $2,000 win over Snyder and Kunsman.

Jeff Haefke won the 270 Winged Micro feature and Chase Schott won his seventh of the year in the Junior Slingshot race.
