2022 Race No. 88 – July 12, 2022 Cook Out Summer Shootout – Charlotte Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. – Jensen Jorgensen in the Boston Reed Real Estate Legends Pro Division and Mark Green in the Legends Masters Division had big nights Tuesday at the Cook Out Summer Shootout. Both drivers scored two wins, first in the round five make-up features, then in the regularly schedule round six race.

Parker Eatmon jumped from the pole to the lead at the start of the make up Pro race, but quickly gave that top spot up to Jordan Black. Black led the first 13 laps of the 25-lap feature before Jorgenson was able to make a turn four pass to grab the top spot. He went on to victory, followed by Black and Landen Lewis.

In the round six race it was again Black with the lead and Jorgenson with the pass. This time it took until lap 24 to get into the lead. The podium was the same for race six as it was earlier in the evening.

The final few laps of the Masters Division can only be described as chaos, with five drivers under the proverbial blanket battling for the win. Green who at one point was back to third made the right moves on the final lap to get the win, his first of the season. Brandon McKenzie and Dwayne Holder completed the top three.

In the nightcap, Green got to the point and head to fend off challenges from Robbie Woodall and McKenzie to sweep the night. He succeeded with Woodall and McKenzie settling for second and third respectively.

Other Legends Winners were Georg Phillips in the Young Lions, and Jacob Staton in his career first Summer Shootout start winning the VP Racing Semi Pro feature. It was his career first Legends Cars victory.

In Bandolero action Wyatt Coffey won his fourth-straight Beginner Bandits feature and Ben Morabito becoming the sixth different winner in six Bandits races this season. Hunter Jordon won the Outlaw feature.
