2022 Race No. 78 – June 18, 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – Clean Harbors 150 – Knoxville Raceway

KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Todd Gilliland delivered a Father’s Day gift for the ages to his dad, and team owner, David Gilliland winning the Clean Harbors 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Knoxville Raceway. It was his first series start of the season and his third career victory on the tour.

Carson Hocevar jumped into the early lead and looked like a winning contender until his engine failed on lap 66 of the 150. That turned the top spot over to Gilliland who had started ninth and was patient in his drive forward.

Over the final third of the race it was Gilliland and John Hunter Nemechek swapping the top spot, with Gilliland making the final pass for the lead on lap 140. He survived a late race caution to get the victory.

Nemechek finished second with Zane Smith third.

Saturday’s race was the 11th series event on dirt between Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio), Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and Knoxville and Gilliland was the 11th different winner on the clay surfaces.
