2022 Race No. 61: May 22, 2022 NASCAR Cup Series – NASCAR All Star Race – Texas Motor Speedway

FORT WORTH -- Ryan Blaney survived a whirlwind last few laps to win the NASCAR All Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway. It was his first victory in the non-points race, a win worth $1 million.

Blaney appeared to be headed for victory as the race neared conclusion. As he raced off turn four the final time, just yards from the finish line a caution flag was displayed. In traditional NASCAR races that would mean the completion of the race, and Blaney and team began celebrating. However, All-Star ruled differ and the race needed to finish with a checkered flag.

Blaney spent the caution period trying to secure his window net before a green-white-checkered flag finish. With the window net partially secured he was able to hold off Denny Hamlin in the final two laps for the win.

Hamlin finished second with Blaney’s teammate Austin Cindric third.
