2022 Race No. 33: Friday, April 8, 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series – Martinsville Speedway

Brandon Jones scored the overtime win in the Call 811 Before You Dig 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at Martinsville Speedway. It was his fifth career series win and first of the 2022 season.

Ty Gibbs had the dominant car, leading 198 of the 261 laps, but a late race restart gave Jones the opportunity he needed to steal the victory. Jones, who was on older tires, got inside Gibbs on the final lap and made it back to the finish line first. Behind him it was chaos as Gibbs and Sam Mayer banged into each other and the wall racing for second, costing them both that spot.

Landon Cassill snuck past the duo to take second with his teammate A.J. Allmendinger following him to third. The third-place finish was worth $100,000 in the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash bonus for Allmendinger. Emotions boiled over post-race with Mayer and Gibbs who fought on pit road before officials and crew members could pull them apart.
