2022 Race No. 8 – NASCAR Cup Series, Busch Light Clash – L.A. Coliseum, Los Angeles, California
NASCAR kicked off its 2022 season in grand fashion with the pre-season Busch Light Clash in a new setting, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It marked the first time in the events 42-year history it was held away from Daytona International Speedway. A temporary quarter-mile oval was constructed inside the historic stadium for the race.
Early afternoon heat races and last chance qualifiers set the 23-car field for the 150-lap race. Tyler Reddick and Kyle Busch looked strong in the first half taking turns at the point. In the second half it was all Joey Logano as he raced past Busch on lap 116 and rolled to the win. For Logano it was his second win in the Clash, the previous was 2017.
